Our team...

our community...

Donations:
Here at Dedrick's Cheese we love our place in the community and are privileged to choose from many worthwhile programs to support. Each month we make several donations to local charities and events in El Dorado County that support local programs benefiting our area. Whether it's a contribution of a gourmet gift basket, gift certificate or the ever-popular donation of cheese, it feels great being a sponsor and giving back.

Internship Program:
One of the most rewarding and hands-on programs in which we participate is the Internship Program at Shenandoah High School. Each semester we are paired with a student that has expressed interest in working in the cheese shop. Three hours a day, two days a week the interns work with us in the store gaining real life work experience, and of course expanding their palate in the wide world of cheese and gourmet foods.
But it’s not all fun and games, at the end of their semester each student must make a presentation to their Peer’s Panel (other students in the program), teacher and parents incorporating what they have learned with us and sharing an idea that will enhance or benefit Dedrick’s Cheese. Some very good suggestions have come out of their minds and on to paper. Over the course of our involvement with the program, more than one of our interns (Pablo and Emerick) have gone on to become employees!

Nathan (Dedrick's very first intern) is seen here with Daisy, our resident mascot and landmark "Fiberglass Cow On Wheels", receiving a parking citation from one of our friendly neighborhood parking enforcement officers for grazing in our commercial loading zone. The ticket was steep, but nothing as bad as the "Mooooving" violations she is known for (sorry).
